Beta Sigma Chapter in Venice, Florida. We are a civic organization of women dedicated to cancer research through leadership, community action, and heartfelt service.
Founded in Columbus, Ohio in 1904, Phi Beta Psi is a national organization and not affiliated with a college or university. It began with six women who built a civic sisterhood centered on service and community. Today, 61 chapters and more than 1,100 active members continue that legacy.
The first chapter, Alpha, held meetings at their school and shared news in the school paper. The original group was incorporated on February 15, 1904 as Phi Beta Psi.
Phi Beta Psi believes in diversity, equality, inclusion, and accessibility. We stand at the forefront as warriors for cancer research with courageous leadership, intentional growth, and continued service.
In 2025, the national membership awarded $572,598 in grants to six recipients, each receiving more than $95,000. Our National Project funds cancer research across new drug trials, treatment options, and all cancer types.
Each chapter raises money through community events, donations, and memorials. Those funds are awarded as grants to doctors researching a cure for cancer. The strength of our impact comes from communities that believe in our cause.
We are proud of what we do and remain committed to growing our contributions each year.
Beta Sigma serves Venice Isle Estates, a primarily snowbird community. Our season runs November through April, when we focus our fundraising on local and national projects.
During our short season we host seven major fundraising events, with 100 percent of proceeds supporting cancer research through state and national projects.
All events support cancer research and keep our community connected.
Your gift supports grants to doctors and researchers across the country. The donate button below will be connected to Stripe once payment details are finalized.
